Cultural Etiquette
Greet shopkeepers and service staff with buenos días or buenas tardes when entering. This is standard and expected.
Tipping is not mandatory. 5–10% is appreciated in sit-down restaurants. Not customary at cafés or street food.
Bargaining is not standard in Cuenca. Prices at markets are typically fixed.
WhatsApp is the preferred communication channel. Email responses are slow or non-existent.
